A day on the Gwydir - Tareelaroi Wier

Tareelaroi Weir is a winding pool on the Gwydir River, just 20 mins east of Moree. The Weir offers visitors easy access to the River with grass banks, a concrete boat ramp, and an eco-toilet. 

Travel at a leisurely pace from Moree, and stop by the Weir itself for some photos before heading to the recreation area for a picnic lunch. Launch your ski boat, jet ski, kayak, or even an inflatable pool toy to make the most of the fresh water.

If it's quiet, throw in a line and admire the scenery while you patiently wait for a Murray Cod or Yellow Belly to take the bait (don't throw any Carp back in, please!).

This is a lovely spot for free camping if you fancy watching the sun set and rise again.
