Terry Hie Hie

Terry Hie Hie is a small farming town 47km south-east of Moree. When visiting this town a must do is the Terry Hie Hie Aboriginal Area. This area features 6 significant cultural reserves, with places for you to picnic, birdwatch or take a stroll along the walking track.
Created in 2005, Terry Hie Hie Aboriginal Area was once an important ceremonial and gathering place for the traditional Kamilaroi (Gamilaroi) People. Although there is evidence of long-term use of the area which includes at least 240 axe-grinding grooves and signs of a corroboree and bora sites (men's business), several carved trees, scarred trees, and two Aboriginal cemeteries, these can only be viewed by appointment.
